Matthew 4:7-9

⁷ Jesus responded to him, “It is also written, ‘You must not tempt the Lord^[a] your God.’”^[b]

⁸ Once more the Devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world, along with their splendor. ⁹ He told Jesus,^[c] “I will give you all these things if you will bow down and worship me!”
